Adult Services Substitute
Part time, as needed basis, not to exceed 12 hours per week. Must be available days, nights, and Saturdays. $15.00/hour
The New Lenox Public Library is seeking a candidate with strong public service skills to serve as substitute staffing at our Adult Services desk. This candidate will be expected to provide general help that will include answering reference questions and instructing patrons in the use of electronic and print resources.
- Proficient using a computer, including general troubleshooting knowledge
- Communicates well with both patrons and staff
- Knowledge of library practices preferred
- Provides excellent customer service while assisting patrons who visit the Adult and Teen Services department

Youth Services Reference Assistant
Full time (35 hours per week).
The New Lenox Public Library’s Youth Services Department is seeking a Youth Services References Assistant with a projected start date of mid August.
Candidates for this position will be expected to provide a range of children’s services, including planning and presenting children’s programs, staffing the Youth Services reference desks, conducting school visits and implementing a variety of other Youth Services related tasks and services. The ideal candidate will be an organized, energetic and creative person who enjoys working with both children and adults. The candidate will also be a service oriented team player with a good sense of humor.
Required qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, LTA, or equivalent experience. Previous experience working with children. Must be comfortable using and assisting with current technologies. An ability to work various hours, including days, evenings and weekends.
