The New Lenox Public Library’s Adult Services Department is seeking a part-time Library Assistant due to a retirement.
Candidates for this position will be expected to assist patrons at the reference desk with reference, reader’s advisory and computer related inquiries. In addition, the qualified individual will be able to assist in technologies the library has to offer which includes, but is not limited to, familiarity with downloadable products, databases and Microsoft office products. Previous customer service, library, and reference experience preferred. Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively in person, in writing and electronically is essential. Work hours are expected to include: two evenings per week, one afternoon per week, and one or more Saturdays per month.
Educational requirements: Bachelor’s degree preferred. Will consider LTA graduates with appropriate experience
Salary: starts at $14.38/hour based on education and experience

The New Lenox Public Library is seeking a part-time Technical Services Assistant.
Duties include ordering, copy cataloging, materials processing, serials management, recataloging projects and more. The successful candidate will be comfortable with computers including Microsoft Office and email. Experience with MARC, OCLC and Innovative Interfaces Sierra Integrated Library Systems preferred. The successful candidate must be detail oriented, able to work independently and have experience in a library.
Requirements: This position requires a bachelor’s degree or LTA certificate.

Hours: 14-16 hours/week
The New Lenox Public Library’s Youth Services Department is seeking a Youth Services References Assistant with a projected start date of late July.
Candidates for this position will be expected to work the service desk evenings and weekends, assist with programming and implement a variety of other Youth Services related tasks and services. The ideal candidate will be an organized, energetic and creative person who enjoys working with both children and adults. The candidate will also be a service oriented team player with a good sense of humor.
Required qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, LTA, or equivalent experience. Previous experience working with children. Experience working with Library 2.0 technology preferred. An ability to work various hours, including a day shift, evenings and weekends.
