Welcome! Adult Services is located on the second floor of the New Lenox Public Library. We provide reference, research, and reader's advisory services, as well as assistance with the 22 computers available in our Technology Center. We also are happy to help you maneuver the web or any of our valuable online resources available to you as a New Lenox Library cardholder from our
research page.

In addition, we offer 24/7 reference assistance online through our Ask Away service.

Needle and Fiber Arts Group
Meets the first and third Wednesday of the month @ 6:00 p.m.
January 4th & 18th, February 1st & 15th
Learn and enjoy a variety of needlework arts, such as knitting, crocheting, felting, needlepoint, and embroidery. Bring your own materials. All ages and skill levels welcome.
Writer's Group
Meets the first and third Wednesday of the month @ 6:30 p.m.

A meeting place for writers to share their work for encouragement and critique. Run by patrons for patrons!
Genealogy Club
Meets the 2nd Tuesday of every month in Meeting Room B at 5:30 pm.
Jan. 10 & February 14th
Learn about using different online databases, breaking through “brick walls,” obtaining vital records, and documenting and organizing your family research. Come share your family research success stories and continue to increase the “branches” on your family tree!

Adult Winter Reading Program
Join the Adult Winter Reading Program! Although the weather outside may be “frightful,” it’s a great time of the year to pick up a good book. Relax and cuddle up in your favorite chair and get lost in a novel, mystery, biography, romance, science fiction, or any other book of your choice. Simply stop by the Adult Services desk on the second floor of the library and pick up a reading log. This event will begin on December 1st and end on March 1st, 2012. Read at least six books to be entered into a drawing for some great prizes.
No registration required. Visit the Adult Services Desk today and pick up a reading log to begin.
4th Annual Chili Cook-Off

Computer Classes
Limited to New Lenox Library cardholders. Five person minimum required for each class. Most classes are limited to 15 spaces; some only 10. You can
register for a class by calling the library Adult Services desk at (815) 485-2605 or by e-mailing
nlreference@newlenoxlibrary.org. However, EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1 there will be a $5 non-refundable
registration fee for each computer class. The fee is payable at the time of registration and registration is not
considered complete until the fee is paid. Under certain circumstances the fee can be refunded if cancellation is
made 24 hours or more before the class.

Book Discussion

New Lenox Public Library District currently provides meeting room space and obtains books for three book clubs. These clubs are member-run and generally meet once a month.
