Instructions

Are you looking to make someone’s holiday brighter and earn a few service hours in the process? Make holiday cards for our New Lenox nursing home residents!

Kits will be available starting Monday, November 27, 2023 at the Adult & Teen Services desk on the 2nd floor while supplies last. Each kit contains enough materials to make at least 4 cards. If you choose, you can use your own materials to make more cards. For every 4 cards you create, you will earn 1 service hour. We can give you a MAXIMUM of 2 service hours for 8 completed cards.

We encourage you to let your creativity soar. Remember, your cards don’t have to be professional. Just make them with love, and they will be perfect!

Use greetings like “Happy Holidays,” “Merry Christmas,” “Happy New Year,” “Warm Wishes”, etc.

We ask you to please bring your volunteer forms to the Adult & Teen Services desk when you drop off your cards, and we will sign your paperwork. Please return all cards to the Adult & Teen Services Desk by Monday, December 18, 2023.

Important!

  1. Please sign your first name only at the bottom of your message. You can also sign it “From the Teens at the New Lenox Public Library.”
  2. Return your cards to the Adult and Teen Services Desk by December 18 along with the Virtual Volunteen Form or a separate paper with your name and contact information so that proper credit can be given.
