Job Opportunity: Marketing and Graphic Designer Part-Time

The New Lenox Public Library is looking for a marketing and graphic designer to coordinate all marketing within the library in conjunction with the Management Team.

Candidates for this position will be responsible for all flyers, posters, electronic and paper newsletters, press releases, some website design, and other marketing and graphic design work. They will be responsible for updating the library’s social media presence and help with photographing library events for publicity. Candidates will also be expected to participate and help coordinate outreach events.

Job Opportunity: Adult Services Reference Assistant

Part time/Temporary - 20 hours/week, May 2014 - July 2014

The New Lenox Public Library’s Adult Services Department is seeking a part-time temporary Reference Assistant to work from May 2014 to July 2014 with the possibility of an extension after July. This would be a great opportunity for a recent MLS graduate looking for reference experience.

Candidates for this position will be expected to assist patrons at the reference desk with reference, reader’s advisory and computer related inquiries. In addition, the qualified individual will be well versed in the use of various e-reader devices, including Kindles, Nooks, iPads, etc. and will be expected to work with patrons individually in the use of these devices. The ideal candidate will be a team player, knowledgeable in technology with excellent customer service skills. A sense of humor is also helpful.

Come visit our Youth Services department to see Miss Jen's bedtime books display featuring both undiscovered stories and tried-and-true favorites! And while you're at it, check out the shelves of our new picture books, fiction/chapter books, and non-fiction books. You're sure to find some good reads to keep your kids busy during spring break.

Tween Lock-In

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to hang out in the Library after closing-time? If so, then join us for our first-ever, after-hours, tween lock-in! This event is for tweens in grades 3-8 (ages 9 and up), and is taking place on Saturday, May 10, from 7:00-11:00 pm. We'll have movies, snacks, crafts, laser tag, and other activities. Permission form packets are available at the Library and must be filled out by a parent/guardian. Program fee of $3 per child is due at registration. Registration began April 7 and ends May 5.
