Are you a bubble gum lover? Do you love to blow bubbles? Are you between the ages of 6-12? If you answered yes to these questions, then join us for a Bubble Gum Bash on Saturday, February 22, from 10:30-11:15 am, for some sweet bubble gum contests, activities, and stories! You may even learn some new bubble gum facts. Here's one to hold you over until then: According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the largest bubble gum bubble ever blown was 20 inches across. Whoa! Registration is required for this program, and spaces are still available, so sign up today!

Calling all those interested in Irish genealogy research!

Come hear local expert in Irish genealogy research Kathleen O'Leary at the monthly meeting of the Genealogy Club, this Tuesday, February 11 at 6 pm in Meeting Room B. Ms. O'Leary is a local expert as well as an instructor at Moraine Valley Community College and will share her expertise for those interested in researching Irish genealogy.

Food for Fines Starts on Monday

Food for Fines

Just a reminder that Food for Fines starts this coming Monday, February 10 and runs through Saturday, February 15. We will waive up to $15 in late fees from your card if you bring in a minimum of one non-perishable food item for the New Lenox Township Food Pantry.

If you would like to support the food pantry and don't have a fine, we will also be accepting donations on their behalf during the week.

Silver Cross Hospital Health Series

Come to the library on Saturday, February 15 at 11 to hear Tracey Kammann RN BSN discuss, "A Healthy Heart...It's in Your Hands" (Cancelled due to lack of registration). On March 15, Dr. Jeffrey Port from Southwest Gastroenterology will be here to discuss Colon Cancer. On April 19, Dr. Ramaraja Yalavarthi of Primary Care Professionals will be here to discuss Diabetes.

That's right, the library has the perfect way to help you beat this winter weather. Come check out a Book Club in a Bag and create your own Book Club with your own friends. We have 15 titles to choose from covering an array of interests. There are 10 copies of each title in your Book Club in a Bag as well as a discussion guide for your book discussion. The extended check out period of 6 weeks gives everyone plenty of time to read the book. So come on in and get your own book club going today!
