VHS to DVD Converters Now Available

New Lenox Library now has two VHS to DVD converters set up in the Digital Media Lab.

If you've used the converter before: The new converters are the same model as the old one, and operate the same way.

If you haven't used the Digital Media Lab before: We have a short orientation process you will need to go through before being able to use the Digital Media Lab.

  1. You can make an appointment for an in-person orientation with a staff member, and then learn how to use the converter. Please email digitalmedialab@newlenoxlibrary.org or call 815-485-2605 ext 127.
  2. You can take your orientation online, and come in to learn how to use the converter.

Because interest in this equipment is high, we strongly recommend making a reservation, though drop-ins are still welcome. If you need a disc, we sell blank DVDs for 25¢ each. The conversion is in real time, so a two-hour movie will take a little over two hours to convert. We also have one VHS-C camcorder tape converter to use with our VHS to DVD converters.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask our Digital Services Assistant or Adult Services staff.
