Do you need some suggestions for researching specific ethnicities, localities, naturalization records, vital records, websites, newspapers, libraries, archives and more? Well, join us as we discuss our favorite genealogy books that are available here at our library, historical societies, archives, and online. Registration required.

Join us and try your hand at crafting miniature furniture for your front yard fey. We will walk you through how to assemble a miniature table, bench, and art easel to decorate your existing or soon to be Fairy Garden. Happy crafting! Registration required.

Rising from the Ashes: Chicago History in the Modern City

Tuesday, June 30 at 10 am

Join us for a tour of Chicago's past before the time of skyscrapers, traffic, and crowded el trains. We will visit many of the city's historical sites, including the Loop and what is now River North. Our journey will include 14 stops. Among the topics of our tour will be the Great Fire, theaters and maritime disasters, dark moments in labor history and baseball, the Gilded Age, and, of course, gangsters.
