Digital Media Lab Orientation

To use the Digital Media Lab room inside of The Studio, you must go through orientation in-person or online. You must be a New Lenox Library card holder, or belong to a library that is a PrairieCat member. If you're not sure of your library's consortium membership, ask your home library.

Only adult New Lenox Library card holders (16+) who have gone through this orientation can check out items from the Tech2Go DML collection.

This orientation will be updated to showcase the new space later this year. You will not have to retake the orientation.

In-person orientation

To request an in-person orientation, please call Studio staff at 815-485-2605 ext. 127 or email studio@newlenoxlibrary.org. Orientations take 15–30 minutes.

Online orientation

To complete your orientation online:

  1. Read the Policy & fill out the User Agreement
  2. Watch the videos
  3. Take the quiz

After the quiz, print out your results (keep retrying for 12 out of 12). Print out the first page (with your name, email address, and score).

Bring the User Agreement and your quiz results to the library, and you’ll be ready to use the Digital Media Lab. If you don’t have a printer, you can fill out a print copy in The Studio or use our Mobile Printing service.

Download, Read & Sign the Policy & User Agreement

Our policy states what cardholders can use the Digital Media Lab, and includes information about age requirements, guidelines for bringing in guests, making appointments, saving your projects, and more. Please download the PDF below and read it before taking the quick quiz below. You won't be able to use the Digital Media Lab without this!
