Spooky Fun for Kids at the Library

Register your kids to join us for some Halloween or just plain fun and spooky events this month!

  • There are Halloween crafts and games planned for The Scene on Oct. 10 (wear a costume).
  • The Howl-o-Ween Bow Wow Reading Pups will be joining us on Oct. 11, when kids ages 6-11 will be able to read to certified therapy dogs.
  • Science Club will be learning all about the brain and playing some brain games on Oct. 13.
  • The Guys Read book club will be playing games and discussing the book Half-Minute Horrors edited by Susan Rich, on Oct. 17.
  • The Girls Rock Book Club will be discussing the book Witch Catcher by Mary Downing Hahn (wear a costume and bring a treat to share).
  • The Remix will be painting pumpkins on Oct. 23.
  • Some well-known villains will be causing chaos at The Villains' Halloween Bash on Oct. 25 (wear a costume).
  • There's also a Spooky Stuffed Animal Sleepover planned for Oct. 28.
  • Fright Fest Halloween Party on Oct. 29 (wear a costume) to learn creepy make-up techniques, make a zombie hand, and try to win a prize.
  • And the Paper Bag Puppet Party will be taking place on Halloween before trick-or-treating begins.

    Fall Programming has begun!

    The Library has tons of programs planned this fall for all ages! Just a few of our youth programs for September include Pajamapalooza, a Pokemon Trading Party, and Lego Club.

    Next Fri., Sept. 19, we have programs planned all afternoon to keep your kids busy after their early release from school: Paper Bag Puppet Party (ages 4 and up) 2 pm, Flower Power Pens (grades 7-8) 3 pm to earn an hour of community service (bring your community service papers if you have them), and Guys Read (grades 4-8) 4:30 pm to discuss Gregor the Overlander by Suzanne Collins.

    Registration is required for each of these programs, so call, stop in, or register online to attend.
