Are you accepting returns?
Yes. You may return materials to our building and book drop now. Due to the volume of materials being processed, please note that you may experience greater than normal wait times for returned items to be removed from your account and holds on popular items to be ready.
What if I want to renew my item?
If you need to renew an item, please don't bring it to the library. Call us at 815-485-2605 to renew over the phone, or renew in your online account. So easy!
I returned my materials, so why are they still showing as checked out on my library account?
Currently, all returned materials are quarantined for a minimum of 72 hours before they are checked back into our system. Due to the high volume of returns, materials may remain on your account for one week or more after they are returned. Please contact us (include your contact information) if your materials are still showing on your account after more than two weeks.
Will I have fines due to the closure?
When the library building closed, material due dates were extended to June 26. New Lenox Library patrons should not have fines from items affected by the library building closure.
Our COVID-19 Fine-Free Response, in place during the Spring and Summer, ended on Friday, August 7. Regular overdue fines will once again be in place past that date.
