New Lenox Library is joining more than 200 other libraries in Illinois to kick off Season 3 of Illinois Libraries Present, a collaborative effort featuring virtual events with bestselling and award-winning authors and esteemed speakers. The season opens with Colson Whitehead, two-time winner of the Pulitzer Prize and a #1 New York Times bestselling author. The Power of Story with Colson Whitehead will take place via Zoom on Wednesday, September 6, at 7 PM.

Due to a mechanical systems emergency, the Library has closed at 1 PM today and will remain closed tomorrow, Sunday, August 27.

If you cannot use the stairs, you are welcome to use the children’s computers during this time. Staff can access materials for you. A copier is now available downstairs in the lobby.

The entire Youth Services department is back in action! Though it will take us some time to rebuild the damaged J FIC collection, we’re ready to help your kids find their next great read. A sprinkler head burst at the Library over Christmas weekend, damaging parts of the building and the collection.
