Take One, Leave One Books
Need books for high school? Free books for high schoolers are located on the west wall in the Teen Scene. Grab a copy, and bring it back or keep it. Feel free to highlight or take notes in the books. These aren't cataloged "library books" and don't need to be checked out, so no library card is required — just take what you need.
A Larger, Expanded Teen Scene
We’ve expanded and moved the Teen Scene back against the green wall upstairs, past Non-Fiction. This gives you more room for a bigger collection of books and audiobooks, and more room to work and hang out. You also get four public computers of your own.
Book Bags for New Lenox Kids in Need
Mon. Jun. 3 – Fri., Aug. 9
3 – 5 pm
Grades 7 – 12
Join the New Lenox Public Library in an effort to get teens helping others in the community. From June 3rd to Aug. 9th we will be accepting donations of school supplies for elementary, middle, and high school students. You will find a list of items we are accepting on our website as well as at the library. All donations should be new or in very good condition. You may drop off donations at the Adult Services desk upstairs.
Once we have a grand compilation of goodies, we will meet on August 9 to put the bags together and write encouraging notes to the students who will receive them. Help us make the first day of school a super happy one for our New Lenox families in need!
